Man jailed for land fraud in Kaduna

A person, Abdullahi Haladu, has been sentenced by the Kaduna Reveal High Court docket, sitting in Kaduna Metropolis, for land fraud.

The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Payment (EFCC) secured Haladu’s conviction and arrest.

Haladu’s crime came into the limelight following a petition from one Muhammad Sani Isyak to the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, alleging that the convict and his accomplice equipped a fragment of land, situated at Mangoron Agwai, Sabon Gari Malalin Gabas in the voice, to him on the payment of N1,550,000 in April 2021.

The petitioner signed a sales settlement with Haladu and later found, after the payment and settlement, that the transaction became as soon as wrong and petitioned the EFCC.

He became as soon as prosecuted on an amended three-count price, bordering on conspiracy and dishonest to the tune of N1,550,000.00. Per the court, his offence became as soon as contrary to Share 58 (1) (a) of the Kaduna Reveal Penal Code Regulation, 2017 and punishable beneath Share 307 of the the same laws.

Haladu pleaded guilty to the costs against him and the presiding clutch, Justice Darius Khobo, sentenced him to five years imprisonment or to pay N200,000.00. He became as soon as also ordered to receive monetary restitution to his victim.
