Street-pop star Zlatan Ibile has delighted fans with a video of him teaching his father-in-law his famous dance moves.

What happened

The clip, which spread online on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, was reportedly filmed at a welcome party for family and friends in Marrakesh, Morocco, where Zlatan and his wife, Davita, are holding their white wedding this weekend. In the video, Zlatan takes to the dance floor with his wife's father and breaks into his trademark 'Gbeseh' legwork. The older man gamely copies the moves as guests cheer.

Background

Zlatan and Davita recently held a high-profile wedding ceremony in Nigeria. The singer's new song 'Inferno', featuring Peruzzi and Shoday, recently topped the Apple Music Nigeria chart and has been seen as a response to activist VeryDarkMan, who criticised the wedding. Davido publicly congratulated Zlatan on the song's success.

How fans reacted

Fans praised the father-in-law for his enthusiasm and described the moment as heartwarming. Many said it showed a good relationship between Zlatan and his in-laws, and looked forward to seeing pictures from the white wedding.

Odumodublvck claims some artists turn to spiritual means to get hit songs

Rapper Odumodublvck, real name Tochukwu Ojogwu, has made a controversial claim about how some musicians chase success in Nigeria's competitive music industry.

What he said

Speaking on a podcast, in comments shared on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, the rapper said getting a hit song is not easy and that some people even turn to spiritual practices, popularly called 'jazz', to get one. He said this is why some artists appear to struggle badly when they cannot get a hit. He did not name any artist or provide evidence for the claim.

Praise for the big three

Odumodublvck praised Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido, saying their ability to release successful songs consistently for years deserves respect. He noted that some artists never get a single hit in their entire careers.

Background

Odumodublvck rose to fame with his 2023 hit 'Declan Rice' and is known for bold statements. Earlier this week he drew mockery after claiming that Nigerians did not know Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice until he released the song. Claims about artists using spiritual help for success are a long-running topic of gossip in Nigerian entertainment, but they are rarely backed by evidence.

How people reacted

Fans were divided. Some said the claim reflected what many people already suspect, while others accused the rapper of spreading rumours and said hard work and talent explain most hits.

"Men, I finally understand what you go through, and I'm sorry": American hip-hop artist Rayven Tyler speaks on dating women

American hip-hop artist Rayven Tyler has sparked conversation about relationships after sharing her experience of dating women and admitting that she now understands some of the challenges men face.

What she said

According to the artist, her personal experiences have given her a different perspective on dating, and made her appreciate what many men go through when trying to keep their relationships going.

"After dating women for so long, I just want to say I get it now, men, and I'm sorry. Now I know what you guys are passing through," she reportedly said.

Why it struck a chord

For years, men have complained about the pressures they face in relationships, from managing emotional expectations to dealing with misunderstandings and trying to keep their partners happy.

Tyler's statement suggests that her own dating experiences have helped her see some of those complaints from a different angle. What makes her comments particularly interesting is that she is speaking from her own experience of dating women, a perspective that has drawn plenty of attention.

Her remarks have opened a wider discussion about emotional expectations, communication and the difficulties that sometimes come with understanding a partner.

Every relationship is different

Relationship experiences differ from person to person, and her comments reflect her own perspective rather than the behaviour of all women.

Over to you

Does dating women give women a better understanding of what men experience in relationships, or does everything depend on the individual involved?

Nigerian-Americans have recorded a string of wins in the United States midterm elections held on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, according to reports.

Who won

Four Nigerian-Americans reportedly won state and local offices in Maryland, Texas, Washington DC and Pennsylvania. In Maryland, Democrat Will Jawando, whose father is Nigerian, defeated Republican Esther Wells to become Montgomery County executive, winning about 78 per cent of the vote with most ballots counted. He previously served on the Montgomery County Council. In Texas, 27-year-old Democrat Junior Ezeonu won the District 101 seat in the state House of Representatives. Born in Onitsha, Anambra State, he moved to Texas at the age of two, was elected to the Grand Prairie City Council in 2021 and became the city's youngest mayor pro tempore. He had defeated the incumbent in the Democratic primary and faced no Republican opponent. In Washington DC, Democrat Oye Owolewa won an at-large seat on the District of Columbia Council.

Still counting

A fifth Nigerian-American, Georgia state Representative Segun Adeyina, was reportedly leading in his race, which had not yet been called.

Background

The wins came on a night when Democrats were projected to take control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Nigerian-Americans are one of the most highly educated immigrant groups in the United States, and a growing number have entered politics at local, state and national level in recent years.

How people reacted

Many Nigerians at home and abroad celebrated the results online, describing them as a proud moment for the diaspora.

First Muslim senator and first Black woman governor among US midterm history-makers

The 2026 US midterm elections produced several historic firsts, according to results and projections reported on Wednesday, 4 November 2026.

First Muslim senator

Democrat Abdul El-Sayed reportedly defeated Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan's Senate race, becoming the first Muslim member of the US Senate. A former Detroit health director, he ran on a progressive platform including Medicare for All and higher taxes on billionaires, and won the seat left by retiring Democrat Gary Peters. His campaign survived a bitter contest in which a Democratic rival he beat in the primary endorsed his Republican opponent.

First Black woman governor

In Georgia, former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, 56, defeated Republican businessman Rick Jackson, becoming the first Black woman elected governor of any US state and Georgia's first female governor. Her victory reportedly ends 24 years of Republican control of the office. Atlanta-born Nigerian singer Davido shared the news on his Instagram Story.

Texas turns blue

In Texas, Democrat Gina Hinojosa reportedly defeated Republican governor Greg Abbott, who was seeking a fourth term, by about 53.5 per cent to 46.5 per cent. When she takes office in January 2027, the 52-year-old will be the state's first Latina governor and its first Democratic governor since Ann Richards left office in 1995.

Background

The results came as Democrats were projected to win control of both the House and the Senate, in what many analysts described as a rebuke of President Donald Trump's second-term agenda amid concern over the economy, tariffs and the conflict with Iran.
