VeryDarkMan (VDM) has unveiled another product under his growing RATEL brand, and this time it is something many Nigerian households may find useful, especially with the country's unpredictable electricity supply.

The new product is the RATEL Sensor Light, a motion-activated light that comes on automatically when it detects movement.

How much it costs

According to VDM, the sensor light comes in two sizes: the small size costs ₦4,200, while the big size costs ₦9,000.

Why it could be useful

Anyone living in Nigeria knows how frustrating the electricity situation can be. Imagine NEPA suddenly takes light at midnight and everywhere goes dark. You need to leave your bedroom, walk downstairs, check on your children or find your way outside to switch on the generator. Before you even find your torchlight, you have already knocked your leg against a chair.

This is where a sensor light could come in handy. It can be placed along staircases, corridors, bedroom entrances, wardrobes, storerooms and other dark corners of the house. Once it detects movement within its range, it switches on automatically, with no need to search for a wall switch in the dark.

A possible security benefit

The light could also help around entrances, gates and backyards. If somebody quietly approaches that area at night, the space around the sensor suddenly becomes bright.

Of course, a sensor light cannot replace proper home security, but it may help discourage unwanted visitors and make movement around a compound more noticeable.

VDM also explained that the product comes with different lighting colour options, including multicolour settings.

What buyers should check

At ₦4,200 for the smaller version, some households may find it affordable enough to install several units: one on the staircase, another in the corridor and perhaps two around the entrance. However, buyers should check the battery life, charging method, weather resistance and detection range before deciding where to install it.

A growing RATEL range

What stands out about this latest RATEL product is the idea behind it. VDM appears to be paying attention to the everyday inconveniences Nigerians face, especially those caused by poor electricity supply. From power stations to smaller household gadgets, he is gradually expanding his product range.

There is something worth appreciating about businesses that identify ordinary problems and offer affordable solutions. You don't always need to spend hundreds of thousands of naira to make your home more comfortable, and sometimes even a small gadget can save you the stress of walking around in darkness.

Imagine having four of these lights around your house. NEPA takes light, but as you move around, the lights come on automatically. Small enjoyment!

What do you think about the new RATEL Sensor Light? At ₦4,200 and ₦9,000, would you buy one for your home?

Peller says no male doctor will attend his wife's delivery, sparking debate

Popular streamer and content creator Peller has got social media talking after saying he will not allow a male doctor to attend to his wife during childbirth.

What he said

In a viral Instagram video posted on Thursday, 29 October 2026, Peller reportedly said that only a woman would help his wife during labour and that he would go into the delivery room himself if he saw a man there. He said he did not trust men in such settings and challenged a person sitting beside him to say whether they would be comfortable with a male doctor delivering their own wife's baby. The moment was met with laughter.

How people reacted

Reactions online ranged from amusement to concern. Many users laughed at his tone, while others warned that labour is unpredictable and that a male doctor may be needed in an emergency, such as a caesarean section. Several commenters noted that the couple reportedly live in Canada, where hospitals typically assign whichever doctor or midwife is on duty, and questioned how his demand would work in practice.

Background

Peller is one of Nigeria's best-known streamers, with a large following on TikTok, and is often in the news for his livestreams and personal life. The comments came as he and his wife prepare to welcome their baby. He was also the subject of romance rumours with fellow streamer Jarvis this week.

What happens next

Fans are now waiting for news of the baby's arrival, with many joking that they hope the hospital is warned in advance.

Davido appears to dismiss Kokopee's account of his rift with VeryDarkMan

Davido has posted a single 'cap' emoji in response to content creator Kokopee's claim that the singer reached out to him over his broken friendship with VeryDarkMan. Fans read the post as a denial, though Davido gave no further explanation.

Davido has given a short but pointed response to claims by content creator Kokopee about the singer's fallout with social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM).

What happened

On Friday, 30 October 2026, Davido reportedly replied with a single 'cap' emoji, internet slang for a lie or exaggeration, two days after a video by Kokopee spread widely on X. Many fans took the post as a denial of Kokopee's account, although the singer did not explain it further.

Kokopee's claims

In his video, Kokopee, a close friend of VDM, said he had tried to save the friendship between the two men by passing messages between them privately. He said VDM felt betrayed by Davido, while Davido rejected that view. His most talked-about claim was that Davido personally reached out to him, and he presented what he described as evidence of their conversation.

How people reacted

Reactions were mixed. Some fans said the emoji showed Kokopee had exaggerated, while others challenged both sides to share full evidence. Some urged people to stay out of the dispute. Neither Davido nor VDM had made any further statement at the time of the report.

Background

Davido and VDM were once close allies, but their friendship broke down earlier this year. This week Davido also congratulated rapper Zlatan Ibile on his chart-topping song 'Inferno', which fans see as a jab at VDM, adding to the tension.

"My romantic side is off social media!" Jarvis reacts to online drama involving Peller

Streamer Jarvis says she will no longer show her romantic moments with Peller online, after people turned their playful behaviour into a story of disrespect. In a message on her WhatsApp channel, she said nobody has the right to tell her how to live or love.

Popular streamer Jarvis has finally spoken out after the recent controversy surrounding her relationship with Peller, and it appears she has had enough of people interfering in their private lives.

What Jarvis said

In a message shared on her WhatsApp channel, Jarvis made it clear that she will no longer display her romantic moments with Peller on social media.

According to her, the two have spent the past two to three years loving each other, playing, arguing and settling their differences like siblings. Now, she says, people have turned their usual playful behaviour into a story of disrespect, and she is clearly not happy about it.

"Nobody tells me how to live my life"

Jarvis questioned why people expect her relationship to look perfect all the time, and reminded critics that nobody has the right to dictate how she should live or love.

She also took a swipe at those who constantly judge other people's relationships while pretending their own marriages are perfect. "Mr and Mrs All Perfect, my foot! Nobody tells me how to live my life," she wrote.

Choosing privacy

For Jarvis, the decision is simple: she would rather enjoy her relationship privately than keep putting her happiness on display for strangers to analyse, criticise and argue about.

She ended her message by saying people could call her whatever names they liked, but their opinions would never break her.

Fans who enjoy watching Jarvis and Peller's romantic moments online may now have to get used to seeing much less of that side of their relationship.

But here is the question: when celebrities constantly share their relationships online, can they really expect people not to have opinions about what they see?

"Igbo businessmen are ashamed of Blord": content creator Peter Mbah praises VeryDarkMan's marketing strategy

Content creator Peter Mbah has criticised Blord's approach to marketing his power stations, saying VeryDarkMan has shown a better grasp of product promotion by documenting his Ratel units from production in China to live testing in Nigeria. He accused Blord of turning a business competition into a personal battle.

The business rivalry between entrepreneur Blord and social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has taken another turn, with content creator Peter Mbah publicly criticising the way Blord is marketing his power stations.

What Peter Mbah said

In a strongly worded statement, Peter Mbah said he was disappointed with what he called Blord's poor marketing strategy, and argued that VeryDarkMan has shown a better understanding of how to promote a product and engage customers.

He said Igbo businessmen are widely respected for their business intelligence, creativity and marketing skills, and questioned why Blord, despite his experience, seems more focused on social media confrontations than on convincing buyers of what his product can do.

Why he praised VDM

According to Peter Mbah, VeryDarkMan has documented the whole journey of his Ratel power stations, from the production process in China to the arrival of the container in Nigeria and practical tests of the units on camera.

He said this approach has drawn public attention and helped build confidence among potential buyers.

Blord was first, but VDM is louder

Peter Mbah also pointed out that Blord's power stations reportedly arrived in Nigeria before VDM's, yet VDM appears to be generating far more public discussion through his demonstrations.

He accused Blord of turning what should have been healthy business competition into a personal fight.

The bigger lesson for Nigerian entrepreneurs

Beyond the rivalry, the row raises a wider question about how products are sold today. Customers increasingly want practical proof that a product can deliver what it promises. Showing how it performs, explaining its features and answering buyers' concerns can be more persuasive than trading insults with a competitor.

In the end, though, both brands will be judged on product quality, battery capacity, durability, price and customer satisfaction.

For Peter Mbah, VeryDarkMan has already taken the lead in winning public interest.

What do you think? Has VeryDarkMan outsmarted Blord in marketing, or is Blord simply using controversy to promote his own products?
