Peller apologises after calling himself Jesus Christ on livestream

Streamer Peller has apologised after a livestream clip showed him in a white costume asking a guest to call him Jesus Christ. The guest objected on camera, and many viewers said his apology did not go far enough.

Popular streamer Habeeb Adelaja, known as Peller, has apologised after a clip from his livestream in which he referred to himself as Jesus Christ drew widespread criticism.

What happened

In the clip, which spread online on Sunday, 1 November 2026, Peller appeared in a white and red costume with a wig and greeted his guest as Jesus Christ. The guest refused to go along with the joke and told him not to disrespect any religion, pointing out that someone with about 17 million followers had a responsibility to the people watching. Peller argued that he was only wearing a costume and that nobody alive knows what Jesus looked like. During the exchange he also said he was a traditionalist and joked about dressing as an Imam the next day, which the people with him warned was only making things worse.

The apology

In a follow-up video posted the same day, Peller said he had not expected the outfit to cause such a reaction, describing it as just a white cloth. He described himself as both a Christian and a Muslim, apparently to show that he meant no offence to either faith, and asked his fans to forgive him.

How people reacted

Many social media users criticised the stunt, saying religion should not be used for content. Some said the apology fell short because he did not clearly admit he was wrong, while others defended him as a young entertainer who made a mistake.

Background

Peller, one of Nigeria's best-known TikTok streamers, is often in the news for his livestreams. Last week, rapper YCee used his name as an example of what he called brain-rot content and refused to apologise for it. Peller and fellow content creator Jarvis held a white wedding in Lekki, Lagos, in August.

Broda Mike says Ghe Ghe's sister's online attack was planned, replying to VeryDarkMan

Skit maker Broda Mike has claimed that he and Ghe Ghe planned for Ghe Ghe's sister to criticise him online, in a reply to VeryDarkMan. Many users said this suggests the drama was staged for content.

Skit maker Broda Mike has made a surprising claim in his reply to social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), saying a recent online family drama involving internet personality Ghe Ghe was planned.

What he said

VDM had reportedly claimed that he helped Ghe Ghe when Ghe Ghe's sister publicly criticised him online. Responding in a video shared on Monday, 2 November 2026, Broda Mike said that he and Ghe Ghe had planned for the sister to drag Ghe Ghe on social media. He did not explain why, or whether the sister knew it was staged.

How people reacted

The claim drew mixed reactions. Many users said it confirmed their suspicion that much online drama is staged for content, and some said they felt deceived. One user noted that Ghe Ghe's sister had gone further than any plan by publicly claiming she had not received ₦5 million. Others mocked everyone involved. Ghe Ghe and his sister have not publicly responded to Broda Mike's claim.

Background

VDM has been in several online disputes in recent weeks, including with Davido's camp, Zlatan Ibile, former BBNaija winner Phyna and businessman Blord. He has also been promoting his Ratel brand of power products, which he says sold ₦90 million worth in one day. Content creators have increasingly been accused of staging arguments and family disputes to attract views, and the latest claim is likely to add to that debate.

What happens next

It is not yet clear whether VDM will respond, but fans expect the exchange to continue online.

What he said

In a post shared on Monday, 2 November 2026, Eedris dismissed the claim, which was reportedly made by Isaac Fayose, calling him an 'agbaya', a Yoruba word for an older person who behaves badly, and saying his new name was hypocrisy. He did not set out his current political position in the post.

Background

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie appears to have answered rumours about the state of his marriage to actress Judy Austin with a romantic video.

What they posted

On Sunday, 1 November 2026, Yul shared an Instagram video of himself and Judy relaxing together on a night out, wishing fans a happy new month. Judy also shared footage from the date night, describing him as her partner for life. Neither addressed the rumours directly.

The rumours

The couple had been unusually quiet on social media in recent weeks, which led some fans to speculate that they had split. Some even linked Yul to another actress after he attended her birthday party, claims that were never confirmed.

How people reacted

Reactions were mixed. Some fans welcomed the video and said it put the rumours to rest, while others questioned whether the couple were truly happy and described the post as damage control.
