Lady shocked at how hot solar panels on a neighbouring building became under the sun

A lady has gone viral after showing how hot the solar panels on a three-storey building next to her house had become under the scorching sun, saying she never imagined they could generate that much heat. Solar panels can get extremely hot in direct sunlight, with surface temperatures sometimes reaching 60°C to 80°C or more in very hot weather. They are designed to turn sunlight into electricity, but they also absorb heat, and too much heat can actually reduce how well they work.
- A panel feeling very hot does not mean it is faulty or about to catch fire; smoke, flames, a burning smell or visible damage would be the warning signs.
- More Nigerians are installing rooftop solar because of the electricity situation.
- But how many people really understand how these systems work?
