A married American pastor and prophetess have reportedly introduced another woman, said to be a member of their church, as their new wife, telling the congregation the arrangement was the will of God. A married American pastor and prophetess have sparked controversy after reportedly introducing another woman, said to be a member of their church, as their new wife.
According to the circulating account, the couple announced to their congregation that they had entered a polygynous marriage, claiming the arrangement was the will of God.
The announcement has raised serious questions about religious leadership, marriage and the use of divine authority to justify personal decisions.
One question many people are asking is whether a religious leader's claim that God approved something should automatically place that decision beyond criticism.
At what point do we begin to distinguish personal desires from what religious leaders describe as God's instructions?
And to Christians who believe marriage should be between one man and one woman, how would you respond if your pastor stood before the congregation and made this announcement?

According to a circulating account, parents at a children's football practice reportedly called the police because a talented 3-year-old boy was dominating the game and barely allowing the other children to touch the ball.
Instead of speaking to the child's parents or asking the coach to encourage him to share possession and involve his teammates, they allegedly decided to involve the police.
And the saddest part? The police reportedly showed up!
We are talking about a 3-year-old child, for goodness' sake. A little boy who is simply enjoying football and showing remarkable ability at such a young age.
At that age, children are supposed to be learning, having fun, making friends and developing their talents. If one child is dominating the game, that is an opportunity for the coach to teach teamwork and fair play.
What kind of society are we creating when adults cannot resolve a simple disagreement at children's football practice without involving law enforcement?
